The Mien fish management area

Miens fish management area, Miens FVO, was founded on the 27.04.89. The fish management area is organised as a non-profit making organisation. The number of people with fishing rights is approximately one hundred, with an additional few who have fishing rights according to tradition. Miens fish management organisation’s area includes the Lake Mien, the River Mien in Kronoberg County, as well as the neighbouring waterways: Drevån, Bastaremålaån, Lunkån, Lunksjön, Agnagölen and Gåragölen.

The principal purpose of Miens fish management organisation is to promote the well being of fish stocks and to take care of any questions concerning the fishing in Lake Mien and the neighbouring waterways.
Lake Mien has an area of 19 square kilometres (1 900 hectares). Average depth: 15.4 meters and maximum depth is 42 meters. Run-off is 1.39 cubic meters per second. The entire water volume is exchanged in years.
